Is there a complete list of classmates online?
There isn’t a list on our web site, but there is a list at WP-ORG’s Graduate
Living History Project. The list of ’89 grads is at
http://wardbook.west-point.org/display_grad.cgi?class_id=1989
You don’t need to log in to see the list of names, but you will need to do
so if you want to see most of the biographical entries. If you do
want to log in and enter your information or view other’s information,
it is the same password as you use for the class web site.
CDT Hill Fights On
It’s been just two weeks since Walter
Hill’s world came crashing down, since the premature death of the best
friend he’d ever known. But even though Barbara Hill had passed away following a
long, brave bout with cancer just 14 days earlier, Walter had never felt so
close to his mother than in the days that had just clipped by.
Buy Online through WP-ORG
Amazon now sells much more than books — you can buy DVD’s, electronics, computers, software, cameras, clothes, jewelry and much more. If you are looking for a particular item, use the search box at the top left of the site. The results will show up on the screen and be "tagged" as giving the commission to WP-ORG if you continue to Amazon through those links. Just remember to come back to the http://gradstore.west-point.org link and search for each item you’re wanting to purchase so that the purchase will be correctly "tagged".
Amazon does not give any indication that the commission is coming to WP-ORG, but if you follow the directions above and go through the http://gradstore.west-point.org link for each purchase, rest assured that WP-ORG will get the commission.
Army Strong in 4th Straight Win
Army beats Arkansas State, 38-10: Carlton Jones ran for 187 yards and two touchdowns to lead resurgent Army to its fourth straight win, a 38-10 victory over Arkansas State on Saturday. The Black Knights (4-6) had lost 11 straight before reeling off wins against Akron, Air Force and Massachusetts. It’s the first time Army has gone unbeaten in November since 1971. Army now heads into its annual game against Navy on Dec. 3 with a chance for its best record since 1996.
Grads at INFORMS Conference
Dale Henderson and Warren Hearnes were some of the USMA grads who attended the annual Institute for Operations Research and Management Science
(INFORMS) conference in San Francisco in November. Dale presented
an interactive session on his research into techniques for solving a
temperature estimation model. Warren spoke, for the third consecutive year, on a panel advising
doctoral students who are planning to pursue a career in
industry. USMA sent nine cadets to participate as well a number
of professors from the Department of Systems Engineering.
Army Wins 3rd in a Row!
The victory against the Division I-AA Minutemen (7-3) gave the Black
Knights (3-6) their first win at home this season and more victories
than they managed last year.
Music Video to Watch
This was passed along to me and I thought it was a great video. Terry Kelly, a Canadian singer-songwriter, wrote about an experience he had when a store held two minutes of silence for veterans. Read the background and then watch the video. It’s worth a few minutes of your time.
