Renewing Wedding Vows Atop the Buffalo

Mike and Patty Gaudreau, their daughter Candice, and their many friends and family, celebrated the renewal of their wedding vows on our Buffalo Mountain last summer.

They gathered in the parking lot at the bottom of the old trail, and began the climb to the summit. At the pauses to allow everyone to catch up, they would tell vignettes from their life together, and Candice would play a selection on her flute.

This continued all the way to the summit, where the wedding vows were renewed, and they all gathered for a group portrait.

After this, the group returned to the Morisette Winery for a splendid meal, wine, and music. It was truly a beautiful day, blessed by family, love, and the magic of our Buffalo Mountain.

Moving Kiosk & Expanding Parking Lot

At 0700 this morning it was still dark, the fingernail moon was nestling against Venus, now a morning star. The pickups arrived in Earl Mole's pasture with headlights stabbing through the darkness. Bernie Owens came with his trailered Bob Cat, and Earl's mare wanted to climb into Randall Supthin's truck. Bernie's rig led the way up to the parking lot, and we closed off the road behind us so we'd have room to work in the parking lot.

We had two tasks. First was to expand the parking lot south to the posts and cable, which would double the parking area. Bernie worked this over while the rest of us looked to the kiosk.

The kiosk had been moved from its original location by cutting the supports at ground level, because of the concrete anchors. We had to splint a new 6 X 6 to each leg, then dig three foot holes for new concrete foundation. Here it is, set up at the new trail head!

Thanks to all the volunteers who participated in this work today!
