Handball Team Visits Chicago This Weekend

Hello my name is Connor Holt and I am a member of the class of 2015 and the men’s handball team here at West Point. We will be in Chicago this weekend for a tournament and were wondering if you wouldn’t mind posting the note below on your West Point Parents Club page.

Very respectfully,

Cadet Connor Holt

Go Army Team Handball!

The West Point "team handball" teams (Gold and Black) are playing in a tournament this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Oct 25-27) in northern Chicago.  The tournament is hosted by the "Chicago Inter Handball Club" and is played at the Northeastern Illinois University Physical Education Complex (PE Building) located at 5500 N. St. Louis Ave. in Chicago. The gym is easily accessible by CTA and by car. There is free parking on St. Louis Ave.  The "Army Black" (mostly Firsties and Cows) begin on Friday at 12:00 (against Russia…might want to see that one!) and that same day 17:20 (against Chicago Inter…the host team).  The "Army Gold" (mostly plebes and yuks) begin Friday at 15:55 (against NY Athletic Club).  See the attached PDF file Tourney Schedule for game times on Saturday/Sunday.  Also attached is a PDF file map of the Northeastern Illinois University Campus.

Please come out and support Army Handball!!

On Tuesday, October 30,2012, Some of the West Point Parents Club hosted the team at Kathy and Joe Altonji's home in Glenview.  The Gibsons and the Fischls helped, along with a few Glenview neighbors, but the cadets enjoyed a home-cooked meal in an actual home for one evening while waiting for flights to NYC to start up again.

Thanks to all who helped.  A great bunch of cadets learned what a great network the WP Parents Clubs are around the country.

Here are some photos of the dinner with the handball team from last year.
