Charles A. Munford

Charles A. Munford passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at the age of 87.

Charles was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Topeka, Kan. He attended the U.S. Military Academy and was retired from the U.S. Army. While serving our country, he earned the Silver Star Medal,Bronze Star Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Japan) (Germany), Korean Service Medal,World War II Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation and Army of Occupational Medal (Berlin). He also was a retired teacher and counselor at Grand Prairie High School.

Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Alzine Munford; son, James Munford and wife, Terry; daughter, Julia Munford and husband, Bruce Rogers; and grandchildren, Allison J. Munford and James Benjamin Rogers.
