The purpose of
the Parents Club is to provide support to cadets and candidates of the United States Military Academy,
their families, and the Academy by facilitating communications between the Academy
and parents, by promoting the image of the Academy, by assisting the Academy
and Admissions Liaison Officers in recruitment efforts, and by providing
fellowship to cadet/candidate parents. We are proud that we
have an excellent working relationship with the West Point
Society of the Inland Empire / Palm Springs, the local arm of West Point's Association of Graduates. Society
members are frequent participants in Parent Club meetings, and club members
support Society admissions and outreach activities. Working with our
local Congressional offices provides us with an additional opportunity to
support the admissions process and initiate our interaction with prospective
candidates and their parents. Through events such as Academy Nights, the
Parent Club begins the process of preparing future cadets and their parents for
the West Point experience.
For
additional information on Parent Club membership and meet with parents who will
gladly share their experiences in having a son or daughter attend West Point, please feel free to contact our club
president, Jeanette
Campbell.
Membership forms can be downloaded(pdf) , printed,and
given to our club treasurer at any meeting. We look forward to your
becoming a part of the West Point family when your son or daughter is selected
and chooses to become a member of the Long Gray Line and attend the United StatesMilitaryAcademy at West Point or the USMAPreparatory School
at Fort Monmouth, NJ.
For those
who may be unfamiliar with West Point or the West Point Parents' Clubs, you may
be interested to know that parents of cadets have organized more than one hundred
West Point Parents Clubs throughout the continental United
States, Alaska, Hawaii and other foreign
countries. These clubs are groups of parents of cadets and graduates who gather
to share experiences and lend support for each other, their cadets and the
Academy. Clubs often hold social events and periodic meetings where
information about the Academy, cadet activities, and cadet life is shared.
There are even internet services such as the Parent Forum and the West Point Parents Net (a listserver for questions and answers about West Point) which you can subscribe to for messages of
interest to cadet parents. There are a myriad of other information sources,
both official and unofficial, for which we maintain a links
page.
