CDC Emerger

Using The Orvis Fly-Tying Guide I tied 9 CDC Emergers, 3 yellow, 3 olive, and 3 white. I used TMC 2487BL #14 Floating nymph D/E, 2X, barbless bronze curved hooks. I’m happy with the results.

For materials I substituted wood-duck flank biots for the Hungarian-partridge body feather fibers. The other materials I used were as stated in the book except that I used yellow, olive, and white CDC. I didn’t have any gray.

Stipping the peacock quill and mounting it as a body was delicate work but after one or two trys, not too difficult.
