Just finished The Firm by John Grisham. I’ve been wanting to read it for awhile. It was published in 1991. There is a movie out with the same name starring Tom Cruise that is supposed to be a pretty good thriller also.
It’s an easy read and goes fast. In short, it’s about a corrupt law firm that takes on a new hire who then gets suspicious about strange deaths among employees. The mafia and the FBI get in on the fun. A lot of the story is set in downtown Memphis which I visited in the summer of 2003 on business so I could relate to the action.
I bought the paperback at a used book sale at the local high school in France (10 books for $3), went on vacation to Ligonier and forgetting that I already had the book, bought another copy at the public library’s used book sale.
