Shared a file

I worked on getting my home network up and running today. I succeeded in finally transferring a file from the old machine to the new one by sharing a folder on the old computer and mapping the shared folder on the new one. A small victory. It’s strange, I can’t ping the new computer even though the new computer is “seen” in the local network folder. Sharing files is good but what I really need to do is share the internet connection. I’ll have to work on that after vacation.
