Work Information

Madison Central High School

I have been teaching at Madison Central High School for five years. I have taught integrated math and geography. Currently, I am only teaching World Geography. This is a world regional course required for all high school students. The students are not as bad as you may think, and I only actually "teach" for 20 hours a week, nine months a year. What a great job!! I truly love what I am doing!!!

Eastern Kentucky University

I have been teaching geography in the Department of Geography & Planning at Eastern Kentucky University for four years. I teach GEO 101, Introduction to Geography. It is a nice change to teach college students after spending each day with high school kids. I also work with the student teachers who will be teaching social studies.

National Geographic Society

I have been working as a Teacher/Consultant for the National Geographic Society (NGS) since 1994. My duties include conducting workshops for teachers and students. I have been involved with geography workshops in several states, but have not had the opportunity to travel and teach abroad. My work with NGS has also opened several doors in the field of geography education. I have been very involved with the introduction of an Advanced Placement (AP) Human Geography Course. This process has taken several years, and the course will finally be taught in high schools beginning 2000-2001.

 Biographical Information

Personal

Who is Nanette? I'll tell you. She is the love of my life. We will be married in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, on September 8, 1999. We were introduced to each other by our friends, Gina & Shane Lakes. We will always be grateful to them for thinking enough of us to introduce us to each other. We have been together since February 1998. Nanette grew up in Connersville, Indiana, and graduated from Indiana University with double majors in Psychology and Criminal Justice (Yeah!! I know...you folks think her degrees are perfect for a lifetime spent with me!). She has a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky, and is a proud member of Kappa Delta. She is currently working for the Madison County School System as a counselor for the Day Treatment Center. She is also coaching the JV Dance Team at Madison Central High School.

My six-year-old son and best pal, Keaton Woodruff Hub. Keaton was born on 8 September, 1992. He is in first grade at Garden Springs Elementary in Lexington, Kentucky. He enjoys sports, riding bikes, wrestling with Dad, and Nickelodeon. His favorite movie is JAWS.

This is my humble home. It is the second home that I have designed and had built to my specifications. I used 3D-Home Architect and a laser printer. I have lived in this house for over two years. I love Richmond, Kentucky, and enjoy living in the Highland Park subdivision. Highland Park is a residential community including Lake Reba, Gibson Bay Golf Course and the Richmond City Park Complex.
