Pioneers of Space Exploration

I saw in the paper this morning that the Space and Rocket Center changed the name to the Davidson  Center for Space Exploration.  This means our selection of the wording on the West Point Brick was fortuitous!  “West Point Pioneers of Space Exploration”

Just to give you an update on the brick project.  The total cost of the project now sets at $3250.00.  I do not anticipate it going higher, as I have not gotten any new messages from classes or individuals stating qualifications of individuals.  There are most likely additional West Pointers who could be honored, but they will remain in the shadows.  There are about 300 names on this email listing with WPAOG, so a minimal contribution from each would clearly more than pay the bill.  Any amount collected over the amounted needed will be contributed to the Saturn V project of USSRC.  This means any money spent on the brick project is tax deductible.  We have had contributions from the Class of 52 and from 5 individuals outside our society.  There are two ways to contribute:  Go to our website or you can send a check to me made out to WPSTV.   Either way should only take you a few minutes of your time and it is a great way to support honoring West Point – And it will be an honor that will last.

There will be a society luncheon on next Tuesday at the ROCC.  I will send out a reminder over the weekend, but if you don’t want to spend the cost of a stamp, bring a check then.
