Rob Decker:  Rob has not been home since the Christmas holidays, having spent spring break in Germany and France with four other cadets. The water polo team did very well this year, finishing third in the Northeast Regional Championships and qualifying for the national championship, held at the University of Texas in April. They finished 5th at Nationals. Summer plans include CPRC during graduation week, then CTLT with an infantry unit in Hawaii. Rob will be home for couple of weeks in July, then report for Air Assault training at the end of the month. The WPWE is a thing of the past and term end exams will soon be over. Rob expects to enjoy the change that summer brings, and then looks forward to Ring Weekend and his Firstie year!

Ned Hull:  Ned is happy to be wrapping up his Cow year, and as much as he is looking forward to becoming a Firstie, his primary focus is on his AIAD at USSOCOM here in Tampa for three weeks and his CTLT in Korea. Spring break in Cancun was such a great success that it appears it will be repeated again next year. We visited Ned and the team at the National Team Handball Championships in Atlanta where both the men’s and women’s teams did very well. That is quite an interesting sport. Three years down – it is going so fast.

Nicole Robbins:  Nicki’s considerable softball exploits are highlighted on page 2 of the newsletter. Nicki is working on getting all of her assignments done before summer break, not much break – she will be attending a class in Leonardwood, MO. Then back to Beast and then to Southeast Asia for two and a half weeks at their military academy. Just in time to start her last year! Busy, busy, busy!

David Nelson:  David is coming home after tests on May 25, and will spend a week doing CPRC which is Cadet Public Relations speaking at High Schools around the area. He will have to go back to West Point after July 4th to be summer cadre for Buckner II. He plans to do some traveling in June visiting relatives and several Army posts to get the feel for good choices for first assignment since he will be a Firstie next year. My how the time has flown.

Abraham Skellenger:  Abraham is looking forward to the summer and his role at Buckner. He is enjoying the freedom that having a car brings – weekends have taken on an entirely new meaning. He has not made any definite plans for his break but will go wherever his Camaro takes him. We look forward to going up for Ring Weekend in August.

  CLASS OF 2003

Mark Jason:  Marc had a great year – grades are really good this semester. He will do CTLC in Germany starting right after graduation and then three weeks of Airborne in ole hot Ft. Benning. Marc will finally then have three weeks off at home with a very happy Mom. He was home for a wedding in May, but only for 23 hours. He is especially happy having completed the first two years and looks forward to some of those extra privileges next year.

Kevin Manley:   Kevin survived Sandhurst, where his company finished 18 of 36. He will have two weeks vacation in Ohio, then Airborne School and DCLT in Ft. Benning this summer. Mom and Pop are looking forward to seeing him get his wings.

CLASS OF 2004

Jennifer Barrow:  Jennifer tabbed her APFT, finished her requirements for the bronze German Proficiency Badge, and got an A+ on her history research paper in which she cited Dad. At the Supe’s recognition for volunteer service she won a drawing for a door prize, and generally had a good time. She will miss her “little sister” from the Big Sister Program, and her cherubs in Sunday school, but looks forward to Highland Warrior and Ft Knox (after getting some rest at home, of course).

Tommy Loux:  Tommy is happy this school year is almost over. He finishes TEE’s on his birthday, then off to have fun in the city. He is excited about being home for a couple of weeks. He will visit his Aunt in Mississippi and a quick trip to New Orleans. He is ready for a change, and looks forward to his role as a Yuk. He is ready to try his skills as a leader to new Plebes.

Aaron Poe:  Our “just about a yuk” is healthy, happy, carrying a 3.0 and eagerly looking forward to June 2! He and a few friends plan a trip to Montreal to celebrate the end of TEEs. It will be a return trip for him and he is looking forward to Chinatown and the old section of Montreal. He is also looking forward to joining us in Tulsa to visit a graduating cousin and family there, some time with friends in Tampa, and Buckner and the Ft. Knox experience. All in all he has really settled into the West Point life and his only complaint right now is that they will be scrambled for their Yuk year.
