“Hacking West Point: Cyber Insecurity” – The Army Cyber Institute

Location: Train Station.

Colonel Vega is one of the founders of the Army Cyber Branch and the Army Cyber Institute, a Senior Army Aviator and Instructor Pilot, a Certified Information System Security Professional and the Director of Engagements for the Army Cyber Institute at West Point.  His Specialties include: Cyber Operations, Network Science, Mass Collaboration, Organizational Science.

Colonel Vega is a graduate of the Aviation Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Combined Arms Services Staff School, the Command and General Staff College, he holds ratings in the UH‐1 Huey and the UH‐60 Blackhawk, and completed the UH‐60 Instructor Pilot Course, as well as the Airborne and Air Assault Schools.

Colonel Vega holds a M.S. from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. Through his research, he seeks to apply mass collaboration to enhance information sharing between US Army units and partner organizations. His current research interests are in network analysis as well information sharing in complex, multi‐nodal organizations.

Fluent in Spanish, Colonel Vega serves as an officer representative for the West Point football team, a BSA scoutmaster, and the founder of the West Point chapter of the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc., (ISC)2.

He is also the Proud Parent of a Class 2020 Cadet!
