April 22, 2018 PCWP General Meeting



Parents Club of West Point Members:

The Annual Membership Meeting was held April 22nd, 2018, 3 – 5:30 pm at the West Point Train Station. Peter Russell, Club President, welcomed the attending members and Panel Guests. He spoke briefly of his goal to leave the Club better than when he began as President. The Parents Club of West Point will be acknowledged by the WPAOG at a Leadership meeting to be held on May 1, 2018. Peter and incoming Co-President, Carolyn Anderson will attend.

Ken Lang, Coordinator of the annual Eisenhower Award, presented the program and outcomes for the Eisenhower Award Day held at West Point, April 21, 2018. PCWP Executive Board members created this legacy Award 20 years ago to make a connection with Tri-State communities through local high school staff to families. Principals, Guidance Counselors and teachers nominate high school juniors who show character and leadership to receive the honored award. More than 350 students, school staff and families attended the annual event. Geri Cicorelli, former PCWP President, was present. She works diligently with Ken each year to make the Eisenhower Award, leadership and West Point meaningful to the participants.

Peter Russell presented Juana and Ron Di Bisceglie with an Achievement Award plaque for Extraordinary Service, Dedication and Leadership. The couple have served the Parents Club of West Point for 25 years.

The 2018-2019 PCWP Executive Board was elected. All for the Corps!

A Discussion and Panel of graduate and cadet parents was led by PCWP former President and Trustee, Mary Ibsen, “What to expect AFTER West Point.” Parents: Mary Ibsen, Matt Class ’14; Melissa Beecher, Emily, Class ’17; Linda & Donald Sullivan, Michael Class ’94; Juana Di Biscegllie, Ronald Class ’97; and, LTC Peter Kilner.
