Note: this page is retained for historical interest, as when I retired from the Army, I ceased being an IMA.

I am LTC Mark Wroth, an Assistant Professor (Individual Mobilization Augmentee) in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. My basic branch is Field Artillery; I am also an Operations Research/Systems Analyst. I currently teach Probability and Statistics, normally during two weeks of STAP.

Brief Biography

I have been assigned to the Department of Mathematical Sciences as an IMA since the early 1990s, beginning shortly after I left active duty. During that time I have been working (as a civilian) for what is now Northrop Grumman Space Systems Division as an operations research analyst, systems engineer, and manager.

My last active duty assignment was with the Directorate of Combat Developments at Fort Sill, where I participated in several studies related to artillery effectiveness, most notably Legal Mix VII.

Prior to that I served a tour at USMA as an instructor and assistant professor in the Mathematical Sciences department, teaching Calculus, Differential Equations, Probability and Statistics, and Mathematical Modeling.

My Field Artillery experience includes time as a FIST chief with the 1st Armored Division in Germany, battery XO of a 155 SP battery, tours as battalion Fire Direction Officer in both 155 SP and 8-inch battalions, and command of an 8-inch battery with the 4th Infantry Division, then at Fort Carson.

I live in Upland, California with my wife, two children, and a Golden Retriever.
