The survey was directed toward USMA graduates only.
A very small number of respondents replied "no" to this question or
left it blank. Since many survey takers did not elect to place their
name on the survey, the Register of Graduates could not be used to determine
eligibility. However, since these two categories represent less than
3% of the responses, it was decided to leave all blank and "no" responses
in the data so that we would not inadvertently delete a graduate's response.

The following table shows the breakdown of the respondents
by graduation year. The 1970s and 1980s make up over 50% of the total,
but there is excellent representation among all major year group segments.
Most of the classes from 1949 forward had at least 10% of their class
respond to the survey. The oldest graduate to take the survey
belongs to the Class of 1925. With an estimated 40,000 living graduates,
the survey sample consists of over 12.9% of all living graduates.
