The West Point Parents' Club of San Fernando Valley draws its membership from a very large area of Greater Los Angeles: San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, San Gabriel Valley, Antelope Valley, Ventura County and the southern portion of Santa Barbara. The WPPC SFV offers a unique opportunity to share friendship and to support current Cadet families, WP graduates, WP parents of graduates and cadets. Our club meets several times a year for club events and West Point Society of Los Angeles functions. Our club enjoys a strong relationship with the West Point Society Of Los Angeles.
As a west coast club, our cadets and families are presented with a few more challenges than other clubs around the country. We assist each other by sharing updated information and personal solutions to our newer club parents as they join the Long Gray Line's family and the challenges of the West Point experience.
It was stressed at a West Point Superintendent's Parent Club Conference, that parent clubs throughout the country further the interests of the Academy and the Army by serving as primary local contacts for interested students and their families, schools, civic and community groups. These contacts are opportunities to communicate the USMA Mission: "To educate, train and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor, Country; professional growth throughout a career as an officer in the United States Army; and a lifetime of selfless service to the nation." We also participate in local college and career nights with our local WP State Coordinator, LTC (ret.) Pat O'Doul.
For additional information on our Parents' Club, please contact us on the officer page. We will gladly share our experiences in having a son or daughter attend West Point. We look forward to meeting and talking to you should you have questions.
