Hail & Farewell Luncheon - Sunday May 18, 2008 at 1:00 PM

All Houston area WPPCGH members, MALOs, MAARs, alumni, USMA candidates, new USMAPS Cadets, Civil Prep Scholars, their parents and other family members are cordially invited to attend the Hail & Farewell Luncheon sponsored by the West Point Parents Club of Greater Houston.  The luncheon will be held at Lutheran North High School. Please see below for directions. The meet and greet portion of the luncheon will begin at 1:00 PM to allow time for greetings, registration, and personal discussions. Seating will take place at 1:50 PM and the program will begin at 2:00 PM.

The purpose of the luncheon is to welcome cadet candidates and parents of the incoming Class of 2012, and to honor the parents and cadets of the graduating Class of 2008. The family of each cadet candidate will receive a Plebe Parent Handbook provided by the West Point Parents Club of Greater Houston and the West Point Society of Greater Houston. The handbook is an 80-plus page booklet written to assist the new candidate’s parents in preparing for the transition to the USMA way of life. It contains a wealth of valuable information assembled by WPPCGH Club members that is based upon their own USMA experiences. Additionally, each cadet candidate family will be introduced to their Mentor family which has been assigned by the club to assist them throughout their plebe year.

At the conclusion of the program the cadet candidates and their families will have time to meet each other and their mentor families. There will also be opportunities to ask questions of representatives of the various Houston area USMA admissions Participants – MALOs and MAARs.

Attending the Hail and Farewell is a great way to start your USMA adventure. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet other cadet candidates and their families before Reception Day at West Point. It is also an excellent opportunity to join the very best West Point Parent’s Club in the nation!

The Hail & Farewell Luncheon will be held Sunday, May 18^th at Lutheran North High School.

Lutheran North High School is at the corner of West 34^th Street and Alba Street between Ella Blvd. and North Shepherd Drive just north of the 610 Loop.
