Re: Hail & Farewell
Luncheon - Sunday, May 6, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.
Dear Cadet Candidate and
Parents:
All Houston area Cadet
Candidates, their parents, and other family members are cordially
invited to the Hail & Farewell Luncheon sponsored by the West Point
Parents Club of Greater Houston. The luncheon will be held at the
offices of KBR (4100 Clinton Drive) on Sunday, May 6, 2007. The meet
and greet portion of the luncheon will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the formal
program will begin at 2:00 p.m. The appropriate attire is business
casual. Directions to the KBR facilities are provided at the end of
this invitation.
The purpose
of the luncheon is to welcome the Cadet Candidates and parents of the
Class of 2011, and to honor the parents and Cadets of the Class of
2007. The family of each Cadet Candidate will receive a Plebe Parent
Handbook provided by the West Point Parents Club of Greater Houston and
the West Point Society of Greater Houston. The handbook is an 80+ page
document designed to assist the Cadet Candidate’s parents in their
preparation for the transition to the USMA way of life.
COL Mike
Jackson will address the Cadet Candidates who will then be introduced
and requested to make a brief personal statement. Afterwards, the West
Point Parents Club of Greater Houston mentors will be introduced to
their assigned Cadet Candidate’s families. At the conclusion of the
program, the Cadet Candidates and their families will have the
opportunity to ask questions of various Houston area USMA Admission
Participants – MALOs and MAARs.
Attending the Hail &
Farewell Luncheon is an outstanding way to start your USMA adventure.
We look forward to seeing you there. If you have any questions, we can
be reached at (713) 461-5420.
Sincerely,
Bette and Phil Lehmberg
