FYI:

1. How much will the Beer Stein's cost?
    - 11 dollars
2. How will they be paid for?
    - The money comes out of the cadet accounts.
3. Can we order more than one?
    - Yes, up to 2 beer steins can come out of the cadet accounts.  If you order more then that, then you will have to write a check to pay the difference.
4. If you are going abroad next semester do you get a beer stein/ if so how will you get it?
    - Students going abroad next semester will get a beer stein.   They will order online this semester (when the signup goes up) and the money will come out of their cadet accounts.  Next semester, the company reps will sign for their company's beer steins.  At which point the company reps will hold on to any beer steins belonging to companymates that are on exchange.
5. I am a Zoomie/Squid/Coast Guard and I was wondering if I could get a beer stein and would my name be included?
    - It's up to the company if you can have your name added to the company beer stein.  Yes, you can order them, you just have to pay by check since you do not have a cadet account. Once the beer steins come in, then either the company or the class officers will ship you yours.
6. I am a cadet currently on exchange and want to order, how do I?
    - You need to contact your company and let them know.  In turn the company rep will contact the class officers and all the exchange cadet orders will be added to the class order.

The USMA Investment club would like to help you with your Top-Off. Here is a slideshow with some good tips on how to manage your money, some top-off information to let you know about how much money you should be able to get, and an excel file proving that this stuff works!

If you have any pictures of 2008 you're willing to donate to the site please contact the class historian, Cathleen Davis. If you have any questions, complains, or suggestions for the class site, please contact the class ISO, Brent Nolan. Lastly, here is some Top-Off guidance from the class treasurer. Have a good one!

Top-Off” General Information

·         “Top-Off” will be available to our class on Saturday, October 1st.

·         You can access “Top-Off” through your Cadet Account, under “Personal” on CIS.  The “Top-Off” button will appear October 1st.

·         When you “Top-Off”, the money will be transferred to your account at the Pentagon Federal Credit Union.  Even if you didn’t set up an account with them, the Academy already did for you with a $5 balance.  This minimum $5 must stay in the account for your duration at the Academy.

·         “Top-Off” is actually the money in your Cadet Account which exceeds the Minimum Allowable Balance (MAB) set by the USMA Treasurer.  MAB is adjusted monthly, so you can “Top-Off” every month starting in October.  The funds will be transferred to your Pentagon Federal Credit Union account for withdrawal within two working days of the “Top-Off” request.

·         If you choose not to “Top-Off” every month, the money can stay in your Cadet Account and earn interest.  The USMA Treasurer invests the money held in the Cadet Account. The interest earned from such investments is paid monthly to cadets based on the ending monthly balance in their individual sub-accounts.  Bottom Line: You can choose not to “Top-Off” and try to make bank on the interest from the investments, but you can also lose money in excess of the MAB.

·         If an emergency arises, a Cadet, with a Tactical Officer’s written permission, may withdraw money from the Cadet Account below the MAB.  (Emergency examples: family illness/death).
