Kyle died as a result of injuries sustained in a automobile accident. He was a Apache helicopter pilot, who served eight years in the Army. Following his service in the Army, he became a civil engineer, and was was the President of the local chapter of the Louisiana Engineering Society and a member of the Alexandria Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, his mother, and a brother.
