Message From Class President Scott Clemenson

June 4, 2002

Dear Classmates,

I wanted to update you on the actions that have been taken on behalf of the Class of 1991 to provide financial assistance to Nicole and her 4 children.

First, an account has been established to accept contributions.

Checks should be made out to Nicole S. Clements and state in the remarks/memo block: Memorial Fund. Notes may also be included and will be forwarded along with a copy of the check to Nicole.

Checks should be sent to
   United Bank
   ATTN: Vicki Schofield
   301 S. Washington St.
   Alexandria, VA 22314

Second, there was a need identified by Andy's Command (MG Marcello, USMA '70) and relayed to me by his SGS (MAJ Lind) that Nicole and the children would greatly benefit from the services provided by the Armed Forces Services Corporation (Army & Air Force Mutual Aid Association during our cadet days).

I contacted the other class officers and they concurred about the AFSC service. AFSC will ensure that Nicole and her children will receive all of their benefits/entitlements going forward from the various agencies within the Federal Govt and other institutions as applicable.

The Lifetime Membership in AFSC will cover Nicole until her death and the children up to age 26 (I believe). This service provided by AFSC is especially critical in this circumstance because Andy had virtually all of the family's personal, financial, medical, and military records with him in the vehicle.

The lack of readily available records/documentation has made the task of getting benefits to Nicole and the family in a timely manner all that more difficult. The AFSC will handle/submit the necessary paperwork to the various agencies/institutions that will expedite the benefits to Nicole now and in the future.

The cost of the Lifetime Membership Fee for Nicole was $495 and I paid that earlier today by personal credit card so that AFSC can get started immediately on getting benefits to Nicole and the children. If you would like to help offset this personal expense that I incurred for Andy's family on behalf of our Class, please send contributions to:

I will also send a note to Nicole regarding your contribution that helped pay for her Lifetime AFSC Membership.

Let me know if you have any questions regarding any of the above information.

Best regards,

Scott Clemenson
President
