Wendy started the year out with a surprise trip to the U.S. She was able to see seven different friends we've known from different times and places we've lived, which all live within a couple of hours of each other in Washington. She crashed a little gathering and surprised friends. Wendy got to finally meet the Garcia family - who has included us as family for a long time now. She was also able to meet up with several moms and 'Jingle' kids from my on-line Dec. 98 playgroup, even though 'Jingle' Hannah was back home with Dad in Japan. Wendy also got to go to Portland, OR at a moment's notice while she was there to visit her cousin, and her Aunt flew in from Idaho Falls to see them as well. It was a wonderful two weeks!
The rest of the year has been busy just keeping up with five kids and all their activities, rubber stamping (she's helped with several sets of baby shower invites, and birth announcements for friends), making cakes (birthdays, and baby showers), painting and scrap booking, though not much of the latter. Other than that there've been two new babies in her life this year. Wendy has started at the Navy Hosp. as a Labor Support volunteer, and has helped two friends when they had their new babies. She enjoys birth and babies so much that she enrolled in a distance learning program to become a Certified Labor Doula (labor support helper).
