Norman Dale Kern, 69 years, of McComb, OH, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2000. He was born July 4, 1930 in Deshler, Ohio to Charles Jr. and Agnes Schuster Kern. He married Marion "Mitzi" Holder September 15, 1951 in Fremont, OH. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict from 1951-53, a farmer in Pleasant Twp. since 1953 and was employed with Sears at the Ft. Findlay Mall for 24 years from 1964-87. Norman was a 1948 graduate of Jackson Twp. High School, Hoytville and a 1950 graduate of Tiffin University, was a member of the Sigma Omega Sigma Fraternity, a member and secretary of the McComb Lions Club, member of North Baltimore F&AM Lodge 561, member of York Rite and Scottish Rite Masons, Valley of Toledo, a member of the Findlay Shrine Club, the Zenobia Temple, Toledo and past patron of Findlay Chapter #23 OES. Norman is survived by his wife, Marion "Mitzi"; son, Steven A. (Linda) Kern, Medina; daughters, Kathleen K. Yoakam, Toledo, June C. (John) Greiman, Denver, CO, Lisa L. (Jeffry) Berringer, Marion, OH, Beth Anne (Tim) Beard, Custar, OH, and Kelly S. (Steve) Spieth, Waterville, OH; mother, Agnes Kern; brother, Edwin C. Kern, Portage; sister, Mary Lou (Avery) Evinger, Hoytville, OH. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Kern, Jr. and one brother. Friends may call at the Hartley Funeral Home, McComb, OH from 1-9 p.m. Saturday, January 22 with Masonic services at 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 23, 2000 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Howard Mayne officiating. Burial Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler, OH. Memorials may be made to E.S.T.A.R.L. or Northwest Ohio Lions Eye Care Foundation.
