Background

The Normal distribution is a family of distributions discovered by Gauss (and some texts call this family the Gaussian Distribution in his honor, as well as to prevent confusion when using the name of the distribution).

In this, as in other distribution discussions, we are re-using many of the same concepts, symbols, and formulas from distribution to distribution.  By placing discussion of each distribution in its own Mathematica context, we limit the interactions between different uses of the same symbol.
