You can pretty much forget a host at the Orleans doing anything for you unless you are a pretty serious player. Lately we have been told to use our points for comps - no more discretionary comps for food or rooms unless you have a serious history with them. And I do mean serious history. You can stop by the host office next to the slot club if you feel like it - but don"t expect much. Two of their gals are pretty aloof - and not real friendly. The good news is they now send decent free room offers for some of their slower times, so your play may eventually get you something. Double royals from 9 pm till midnight on evenings when there is a hockey game at the Arena. Must show hockey ticket stub to get double royal. During this weekend"s promotions some players who got their royals doubled were asked what the score of the hockey game was. Several local advantage video poker players were banned during the promotion. One of these had gotten a $2 royal and was paid double, as advertised. Promotion Cancelled on 2 DEC. The Orleans now requires about $60,000 through per month, on a consistent basis for a descretionary comp. Orleans rooms have a dedicated phone port you can plug your modem into, but you still have to have an ISP. They also charge each sign on as a local call and charge .75 for the first 30 minutes and .10 per minute for each minute over 30. I temporarily signed up with AOL for 45 days free just so I would have an ISP with a local number. The speed was usually in the top range for a 57,600 modem. They supposedly had internet connection (WebTV) for $5, but I couldn"t get that to work at all, and the front desk wasn"t any help. $8,500 Coin-In per day (on average) to get a discretionary room comp. |
