He came into our lives when Mom married him 2 weeks before Twyla was born.
He taught my kids to love horses.
He worked with me to ride barrels until I decided I might injure myself and not be able to work.
He coached me through making years worth of AWANA derby cars with my kids.
He taught me to use a circular saw.
When I went to the Sunday school class he taught, I was his honored guest.
When our family went to his church, we were announced as blessings.
Whenever Twyla was going to be around for a Sunday, he was eager to arrange to have her sing at church (sometimes accompanied by brothers).
I can't count the times that he told me, "Your children are remarkable, and they are doing remarkable things" (sometimes replaced by "amazing").
He gave me approval and respect, and a whole other family.
He left this world today to be with Jesus, and I rejoice for him, but our whole family profoundly feels the loss.
We love you, Pop

Pop - the Knower of (All) Things
Not my dad yet the only grandfather my kids have known.
You have taught them the value of hard work, putting away your boots, and shutting the back door.
You have given them an example of loving God completely, learning for a lifetime, and always saying thank you for a meal you are served.
You have shown them how a strong man can love a strong woman and both be better for it.
Although we are not your own, you have loved us so very well. Thank you for making a place for us in your heart.
Our hearts will forever be shaped by who you are.
No, not my dad, but our Pop - the perfect gift at just the right time for each of us.
We love you and can’t wait to see you soon!

Jill Sims Espino
