TREASURER’S REPORT: Thom Powers presented a financial report as of October 30, 1997, which was approved by the Board He also reported that USMA will bill the Society for First Call. Thom also inquired about the status of the Society’s voice mail problems, and Chuck Hoskinson reported that he had straightened out the service aspects, but that billing is presently going to a Miami address, which has been paying it. Chuck believes it must be another society, but has informed the service that WPS-FWC is the user.
PROGRAMS:
· ARMY-NAVY GAME PARTY: The Army-Navy Game party will be held
again at the Turtle Club. Cost will be $16/person. The flyers will go out
through AOG. Food and service expectations will be same as last year.

get involved through such vehicles as the WP-ORG web site and Assembly

to improve the relation covered subjects such as Society class coordinators,
contact with parents and cadets and the prospects of inviting Parents’
Club members to FD.
· SOCIETY WEB SITE: Greg Pitts agreed to work with Chuck Hoskinson
on establishment of a Society web site.
CLASS COMMUNICATIONS: John Holecek gave a brief review of the mission of this committee. He is to write an article for the Newsletter requesting participation of class leaders, and requested a current list in order to put new members in touch with class reps..
CAREER ADVISORY SERVICE : Andy Duffy provided a tutorial on the SAWG, which is essentially a clearing house for information. There is a meeting every two months, approximately two inquiries/week, packets are sent out and feedback is good. Reports indicate that the system is working. There are excellent packets for newcomers, meetings are well done and an article describing the meetings was proposed for the Newsletter.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS: Mike Urette proposed activities to promote community relations such as recognition to Honor Schools and universities, communications with sick and hospitalized grads and inviting Congressional members to functions such as Founders’ Day. He requested a budget to support these activities for awards, etc. The amount of $37.50 three times/year was approved by the Board. A committee consisting of Don Lionetti, Mike Urette, Bruce Ollstein and Joe House would oversee the expenditures.
PUBLIC INFORMATION: Bruce Ollstein advised that articles for publication in Assembly could be FAXed to him at (813) 223-7065. He invited everyone to read his article in the USMA catalog for the Bicentennial class.
UNIFIED COMMAND REPRESENTATIVES: Doug Nash was not yet aware who the next CINC would be. He advised that there were 8 new grads at SOCOM, bring the present total to 32. Bruce Simpson hopes to have a list of CENTCOM grads for the next meeting, and reports that a social is being planned.
