    Proposed Changes to By-Laws:<\/span><\/h2>\n

    This year, we have received inquiries from potential club members who have sons or daughters who are attending a prep school before entering the USMA. We discussed this at our board meeting in August, and have recommended a change to our by-laws to grant membership to not only parents of prep school appointees, but also related family members of cadets and graduates:<\/span><\/h2>\n

    Article III<\/p>\n

    Section 3 Associate membership will be\u00a0extended to any family member of an active cadet or\u00a0any parent or guardian of a cadet candidate enrolled at an approved\u00a0USMA Prep Academy.<\/p>\n

    Article IV Dues
    \nSection 4: Associate membership\u00a0dues will be set by the board.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Proposed Slate of Officers for 2012<\/span><\/h2>\n

    At our last meeting, we solicited candidates and volunteers for club officers and other club positions. The following people have stepped up for the coming year:<\/span><\/p>\n

        Proposed Calendar for 2012:<\/h2>\n

        Following our past year’s schedule the following calendar is proposed:<\/p>\n

        • January 21
          \nBusiness Meeting,installation of new officers, Boodle for our Cadets and Soldiers<\/li>\n
        • April 14
          \nHail & Fairwell to our Class of 2012 who will graduate on May xx, 2012<\/li>\n
        • June 23
          \nWelcome BBQ for the Class of 2016<\/li>\n
        • August 25
          \nSummer Meeting, Boodle for our Cadets<\/li>\n
        • October 20
          \nBusiness Meeting, Election of Officers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Note: Tentative until approved.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

          Fund Raising<\/h2>\n

          Our club funding is in fine shape as the Treasurer’s report indicates, but there is a continued need to replenish these funds each year to fund our efforts: parting gifts to graduates and past officers, birthday gifts for our cadets, food and drinks for our meetings, and the sending of special boodle to our cadets and soldiers if the need might develop. In past years, this also included seed money for the semi-annual All Service Academy Ball. It will be several years, though, before this responsibility rotates back to our club.<\/p>\n

          There are many ways to raise funds for the club, ranging from our past tulip sales, to the club store, to soliciting donations from members and interested parties, to name a few. Our next meeting will be an opportunity to review past efforts, and to solicit ideas for the coming year.<\/p>\n
