To All WPPC-MS members & cadets:
I maintain a web site entitled "Cadets of West Point". The address is http://www.totten60.com/usma/. The purpose of this site is to provide a resource where promising high school students can find out about West Point cadets from their home towns or home state. At present my database includes only about 1,500 cadet names and hometowns. Of those, about 350 cadets have actually submitted information for individual web pages.
I would like to request some specific assistance from you and your parents club.
First, I'd like to ask you and your members to contact your cadets and ask them to fill out the cadet input form which can be found at: http://www.totten60.com/usma/CadetInput.htm.
Second, for those cadets who agree to have their cadet photo included on their web page, I'd like to request the parents email or snail mail a copy of the photo to me. As you probably know already, many cadet photos end up with the parents and not with the cadets - they have plenty to keep track of without cluttering their desks with their own photos.
Third, I'd like to request you add a link to the "Cadets of West Point" web site on your parents club home page. I find that the more parents are aware of this, the more they will encourage their sons and daughters to become part of this worthwhile admissions effort. Both cadets and parents have told me they would have loved to have had a resource such as this when they were researching their college options.
