President – Carol Bazemore

A thank you was given to all of the Firstie parents for their contribution to the Parents’ Club.  All were given a disposable camera, a Soldier’s Bible, a state flower from their cadet’s first post, an afghan embroidered with the 2005 West Point crest, and the handbook:   “Home is Where the Army Sends You”.

--- Bill and Jan Daniels:  Curt branched infantry and his first post is Ft. Carson, CO.  He was the captain of the football team and met President Bush twice.  Alums of the club have so much insight and could offer help and support.  It may be a good idea to have a resource to keep the alums in contact with the club.

---Mike and Mary Warner:  Marcus has been a liaison in the states for Kuwait and found that to be very interesting.  He changed his branch from engineering to combat Military Police.  He will be stationed at Ft. Leonard, MO for the summer then return to West Point as a graduate assistant to the swim/dive team.

---Don and Linda Seipel:  Ben branched aviation and his first post will be Ft. Rucker, AL.  The cadets get approximately two months off after graduation before reporting to their first post.  The length of their leave depends upon any additional courses that they choose to take in the summer.

---Gene and Nancy Brooks:  Devin Bright branched aviation and will be stationed at Ft. Rucker, AL.  Devin will start school July 26th and is checking into housing.  They brought Devin’s Firstie picture to share.  Nancy will organize the Newcomer’s Booklet for the incoming Plebe parents.

---Other Firsties:  Brendan Griswold and Sean Patton are both going to Ft. Campbell, KY.  Chris Smith branched engineering and will be stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC.
