Re:  Hail & Farewell Luncheon - Sunday, May 7, 2006 at 1:30 p.m.

 

All Houston area USMA Candidates, new USMAPS Cadets, Civil Prep Scholars, their parents, and other family members are cordially invited to the Hail & Farewell Luncheon sponsored by the West Point Parents Club of Greater Houston.  The luncheon will be held at the offices of KBR (4100 Clinton Drive) on Sunday, May 7, 2006.  The meet and greet portion of the luncheon will begin at 1:30 PM and the formal program will begin at 2:00 PM.  The appropriate attire is business casual.  Directions to the KBR facilities are provided at the end of this invitation.

The purpose of the luncheon is to welcome the new cadet candidates and parents of the Class of 2010, and to honor the parents and cadets of the Class of 2006.  The family of each new cadet candidate will receive a Plebe Parent Handbook provided by the West Point Parents Club of Greater Houston and the West Point Society of Greater Houston.  The handbook is an 82 page document designed to assist the new cadet candidate’s parents prepare for the transition to the USMA way of life. 

LTC (Ret) Arny A. Ferrando, will address the new cadet candidates who will then be introduced and requested to make a brief personal statement.  Afterwards, the West Point Parents Club of Greater Houston mentors will be introduced to their assigned new cadet candidate’s families.  At the conclusion of the dining portion of the program, the new cadet candidates and their families will have the opportunity to ask questions to various Houston area USMA Admission Participants – MALOs and MAARs.

 Directions to the Hail & Farwell Luncheon

The Hail & Farewell Luncheon will be held on May 7, 2006 at the Kellogg, Brown & Root Complex (KBR) at 4100 Clinton Drive. 

There are two main access routs:

1)  Exit Jensen Drive from I-10 East, (Exit 770B), turn right at the yield sign to Clinton Dr., then turn left (about 1/2 mile) on Clinton.

2)  From Highway 59, exit to I-10 East then exit at Waco, turn right to Clinton Dr., then turn right on Clinton Dr. to the KBR complex.

Enter the gate area and provide the guard with proof of identity and advise him you are attending the West Point Parents Club of Greater Houston Hail & Farewell Luncheon.  The guard will direct you to the KBR Lunchroom.
