Texas, Their Guests,
and USMA Staff are
Cordially Invited to the
11th Annual Texas Tamale
Tailgate at USMA
COL Michael Jones will host the
11th Annual Texas Tamale Tailgate at USMA on October 21, 2006. The
Tailgate will be held in front of COL Jones' quarters at
82-A
Partridge Place -- directly across from Michie Stadium and Lusk Reservoir.
Look for the large white tent decorated with
numerous Texas flags (see accompanying map).
The tailgate will
begin immediately following the
TCU Vs. ARMY football game and will conclude at approximately 2200
hours.
Attendance
at the 2006 Texas Tamale Tailgate is expected
to exceed
580.
We plan to serve 210
pounds of beef brisket and 140 pounds of link sausage (from Goode Company Barbecue),
720 tamales and 400
servings each of rice and beans (from Balderas Tamale Factory), and over
100 dozen home made cookies. The food will be sourced in
Houston and transported to USMA to enable the
cadets and their guests to experience "a little bit
of Texas" at their home on the Hudson.
