Class Picnic, Saturday, June 10, 2006, 11:00 a.m.

On behalf of the area Military Academy Liaison Officers (MALOs), the West Point Society of Greater Houston and the West Point Parents Club, I would like to congratulate you for your selection to West Point, the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS) or the Association of Graduates (AOG) Civilian Scholarship Program.  In recognition of this achievement, we would like to invite you and your family to a picnic on Saturday, June 10, 2006, from 11:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Northshore Park in The Woodlands, Texas.  The purpose of this function is to provide you an opportunity to meet and become better acquainted with your new classmates from the greater Houston area and your parents to meet members of our alumni and parents groups.

The picnic held at Northshore Part in the Woodlands will additionally be attended by several upper class cadets home on leave in addition to MALOs and parents who will be there to discuss their first year experiences at West Point as well as USMAPS.  Some of the cadets attending will also be in leadership positions for “Beast Barracks.” Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided.  The park is a beautiful facility and has excellent picnic and athletic facilities (including volleyball), so be prepared to have fun.  Also, you may want to bring lawn chairs.

If you plan to attend the picnic at Northshore Park please also RSVP to Jerry Durner by using either the e-mail address (jdurner@aol.com.) or by phone (281-486-6791).  Directions to the park are as follows:

·        take I-45 North to The Woodlands;

·        take Robinson Road/Woodlands Parkway Exit and go West on Woodlands Parkway for go approximately 3 miles; and

·        turn right (North) at the intersection of Woodlands Parkway and East Panther Creek Dr., and go approximately 1 mile to the Lake Woodlands intersection; turn right on Lake Woodlands and proceed to Northshore Park on the right.

·        A map is enclosed for your use.
