20th Reunion |
The 20th reunion of the Class of 1980
was held at West Point on 19-21 October 2000. The weather
cooperated beautifully and it was a truly spectacular event. The
festivities kicked off with the golf tourney on Thursday followed by a
casual buffet social at the Woodcliff Lakes Hilton Hotel. Friday
was the business day - classroom visits, shopping, memorial service led
by our own Rick Funk, class lunch at Ike Hall, class business meeting,
USMA leader team update and a wonderful informal dinner-dance at the
Hilton. Many were still recovering from the late night while they
were headed to West Point on Saturday morning for the Alumni Service and
Parade. Lunch was in the Cadet Mess which helped prepare us for a
thriller football game in which Army upset Tulane and ended the longest
current losing streak in NCAA Division IA football. The reunion
closed with a class victory reception in Ike Hall and the AOG dinner
dance in the Cadet Mess.
The pictures in this gallery are digital photos taken during the weekend. Unless otherwise noted, Bob Morris is the contributor of photos. I hope others share the pictures they took to allow for a more thorough history of the weekend. These pictures can be downloaded to your computer. First click on the thumbnail image to get the full size image. Then move the cursor over the photo and click the right mouse button. One of the options on the pop up menu should be "Save As". Select this option, identify the directory/folder in which you wish to save the picture and give it a different name if desired. Then click on "Save" and you will have the photo. Please use the photos for personal use only (i.e., no commercial use) Finally, I dedicate these photo galleries to our classmates that could not join us, especially George Johnson (C-3). It was a great weekend but we definitely missed all of you too! See you at the 25th! (Smitty is looking
for volunteers . . .) |
