Tuesday evening was spent with a little walking tour of Hot Springs. The town had been a center for tourism in the early part of this century attracting many visitors with the natural hot springs in the area. There was evidence of this afluence in the various structures around the city. Attempts at restoration of some of the buildings was very visible and there were several beautiful structures as a result of this attempt. On the other hand, there is a lot yet to be done. Leaving for Little Rock was no hardship as the weather was beautiful and the riding was smooth. Along this stretch were really nothing outstanding but everything in general was above the norm. One point which was becoming very obvious was the fact of how courteous the drivers in Arkansas behave. They took notice of the bikers well in advance of getting to them and slowed down then made the effort to provide plenty of clearance so as not to interfere with them. No one came close to forcing them off the pavement into the berm or causing a jump by surprising them with a too close or too fast approach or passing. Kudos to the drivers of Arkansas. Looking forward to seeing Jack Stanley in Little Rock on arrival. Larry
