What Have Your Kids Done?
Carol and I enjoy reading the submissions to the Class '55. We hope others will continue.
As for our offspring.....We had four children.
Our first son, Robert, was born in 1956 at Greenville Air Force Base when I was in Flight School. He would have loved to go to the Air Force Academy, but his
poor eyesight prevented him from flying. If he could not fly, he did not want to go Air Force. He graduated Stanford University with a major in Physics. He later graduated from Washington University (St. Louis) Medical School and absolutely LOVES Medicine. He has a heart of gold, does many things to help the homeless, and told us that any veteran and his family who comes to see him for treatment, has 'VIP' put on his chart. He treats them 'Pro Bono'.
Steven, our second son, graduated MIT as a Chemical Engineer. He graduated Medical School and became very active with the American Medical Association. He is now on the Yale University Medical School faculty staff. As a pediatric ophthalmologist, he operates on newborns. There is a very short 'window of opportunity' time span to save a newborn's eyesight, He prays just before he operates, and then right afterwards, hoping he has preserved the eyesight for the infant.
Lisa, our third child, and first daughter absolutely is fascinated with learning. We consider her our 'walking encyclopedia' She graduated UC Berkeley as a Chem E., has a Masters Degree in Business, and received her medical degree from UC Davis. She has had a serious foot injury and is now considered partially disabled.
Carolyn, our second daughter and fourth child, graduated UCLA as an English Major. She was employed by various companies, each sending her to school to further her education. She now resides in New York City and works as a Risk Management officer with a large global finance company. She is our 'happy go lucky' off spring.
We have six grandchildren and absolutely enjoy spoiling them.
Our best to everyone...We are slowly dwindling down, guys......GRIP HANDS!
