William Whitmarsh Harris, Jr.

William Whitmarsh Harris, Jr. was born on 16 July 1933 in Wilmette, Illinois, appointed to West Point from the 10th Congressional District of Illinois and entered on 3 July 1951. He was in company H 1, a Corporal his 2nd Class year, a Lieutenant and Company Executive Officer his First Class year. He graduated on 7 June 1955 and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Air Force.

William Whitmarsh Harris, Jr.

Bill Harris Jr., 81 of Severna Park, passed away on November 3, 2014. Bill, beloved husband of Judy Harris of 58 years died of natural causes. Bill is survived by Judy, his children and their spouses - Bill and his wife Vickie, Steve and his wife Linda, Cindy Love, Dave and his wife Juli, Barb, Debbie Compere and her husband Dave, their 11 grandchildren and a great-grand-daughter.

Bill was a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point, Class of 55 and served as a Pilot in the US Air Force. Following his military service Bill worked for many years in the private sector, and as President of W.W Harris and Associates. Bill was involved in many organizations to include the Military Order of the Carabao where he managed the organization for 30 years as the 'Main Guy' Carabao. Bill also served as President of the Baltimore Holy Name Society and later as President of the National Holy Name. He spent a great deal of his spare time supporting many ministries at Our Lady of the Fields Church in Millersville, MD.

Bill was a very proud Father,grandfather and recently great grandfather. He will be missed by many.

Interment at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church Cemetery in Millersville MD.

Judith 'Judy' (Walsh) Harris

Judith Walsh Harris 81, a resident of Severna Park MD for the past 42 years, died of heart failure on Saturday, January 9th at Anne Arundel Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Always a loving sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her brother Bill Walsh of Millington NJ, her children Bill (Vickie) of Pasadena MD, Steve (Linda) of Severna Park, Cindy Love (John Gygax) of Severna Park, David (Juli) of Phoenix MD, Barb of Pasadena MD, and Debbie Compere (Dave) of Millersville, Md, 11 grandchildren, Erin Love Lowry (Jaysen), Matt Love (Erin), Bethany Love, Stevie Harris, Laura Harris, Chris Harris, Kevin Harris, Rachel Harris, Gretchen Compere, Allie Compere and John Compere and great grand-daughter Evelyn Lowry and numerous, cousins, nieces and nephews. Judy is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years William Harris, her brother John, her son-in-law Jamie Love and her parents, Jean and John Walsh.

Judy was born and raised in the Bronxville NY area where she lived with her parents and two brothers. She graduated from Elmira College in 1955. Judy married William Harris in Dec. 1955 after meeting him on a blind date 6 months prior.

After moving to Severna Park in 1973, Judy worked for many years with her family at their business, Word Movers Inc. Judy was an active member of the Severna Park Chamber of Commerce, SPAN, Aspire and various committees at her church parish of Our Lady of the fields.

Judy enjoyed current events, her book club and cross word puzzles, yet nothing more than spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grand-daughter. She will be remembered for her lively personality, wisdom, love, laughter and of course the chocolate chip cookies.

Interment at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church Cemetery.
