John Thomas Hamilton

John Thomas Hamilton was born on 12 December 1933 in Oklahoma. He was appointed to West Point by Senator Lucas of Illinois and entered on 3 July 1951. He was in Company I2, Company First Sergeant his first class year, a Star man and number 2 in his class. He graduated on 7 June 1955 and was commissioned in the US Air Force.

John Thomas Hamilton

John Thomas Hamilton of Union Grove, a retired mathematics and physics professor, died Thursday. He was 68.

Mr. Hamilton taught at Ohio State University, graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point and was a Rhodes Scholar. He was a retired national director of the American Contract Bridge League.

Survivors include his wife, Gwyn J. Kitchel Hamilton; and one brother, James R. Hamilton of Beaufort, S.C.

A memorial service will be held at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Marshall County Hospice.

Gwyn Kitchel Update

I found Gwyn Kitchel, the widow John T. Hamilton. She is very ill in Nashville TN. I am assuming that she was in a nursing facility because she said the nurse was down the hall. I got her daughter's number and called and left a message to call me back. Gwyn said that she didn't want someone to call her very often. I don't know what is causing her illness.
