Robert Bruce Chapman

Robert Bruce Chapman was born on 17 August 1930 in Connecticut. He was admitted to West Point from the Regular Army and entered on 3 July 1951. He was in Company C2 and a Cadet Lieutenant his first class year. He graduated on 7 June 1955 and was commissioned in the US Army in the Field Artillery.

Colonel Robert B. Chapman

Colonel Robert B. Chapman (US Army, ret) of Delray Beach, FL died March 11, 2008 at age 77. He was a graduate of Wilmington, VT High School, the US Military Academy at West Point, and the University of Southern California Graduate School. He was an officer in the Army for 32 years, serving in Vietnam, Germany and the Pentagon. He attended the Command & General Staff College and the Army War College.

Upon retirement, he worked at General Electric of Burlington. He was a member of the Ethan Allen Club, the Elks Lodge and Burlington Country Club in Burlington and a life member of the Delray Beach VFW, a member of Elks Lodge 1770 and the Delray Beach Golf Club.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Phyllis, daughter Jennifer Critchlow and her husband John, grandson David and granddaughter, Kelly of Northborough, MA. Special mention goes to lifelong and loyal friends, Bill and Tanya Cimonetti and Reg and Elaine Maynard.

A Memorial Service at West Point, NY will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.

Phyllis E. (Tebbets) Chapman


Westborough - Phyllis Chapman, 90, of Westborough, MA, formerly of Delray Beach, FL and Burlington, VT died on October 20, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Her husband, Colonel Robert Chapman (retired Army), predeceased her in 2008.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer C. Critchlow and her husband John of Northborough, MA; a grandson, David Critchlow and his wife Maggie of Lancaster, MA; a granddaughter, Kelly Zajdel and her husband Matthew of Northborough, MA and two great grandsons, Angus Critchlow and Wyatt Zajdel.

Phyllis will be interred beside Robert at the US Military Academy, West Point, NY. following a private family celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute the charity of their choice..
