Reunion Dress

Dress for all reunion activities, to include the two Class dinners in the Wynfrey Hotel is casual, meaning that sport shirts are entirely acceptable for both dinners. While casual dress for most Birmingham restaurants is the norm, there are some (including Shula's Steak House in the Wynfrey) where coat and tie are appropriate for the evening meal. Dressy casual in good taste is the watchword for all reunion activities.

Hospitality Suite & Artists

The Hospitality Suite will be open and manned daily by a member of the reunion committee. Attendees who are artists, authors, artisans, or crafts persons are encouraged to display and offer their works for sale in the Hospitality Suite. Contact Buddy Roberts (334-365-7873) to reserve display space.

The Wynfrey Hotel

Our reunion headquarters is a 4-star/4-diamond hotel that is the centerpiece of the Southeast's largest enclosed shopping mall. It is located in Hoover, AL, a Birmingham Metro community which is 20 minutes from Birmingham's Shuttlesworth International Airport. The Wynfrey provides complimentary shuttle service from and to the airport for registered guests. Advance reservations for shuttle service, which must be made with the Wynfrey Hotel, are required.

Normal Wynfrey rates commence at $190 (plus tax). Our reunion rate is $130 (plus tax) for a standard double occupancy room. Lodging tax is currently 14%. We have 55 rooms reserved for Tuesday through Friday at the $130 rate, and the rate for reunion attendees is guaranteed for two days before and after the reunion dates.

The Wynfrey is a non-smoking facility. A Days Inn, 3/10 mile from the Wynfrey, has smoking rooms at $70 plus tax and provides complimentary shuttle to and from the Wynfrey. The Days Inn does not provide airport shuttle service.

There is a fee for parking in the Wynfrey garage or the gated area in front of the hotel. There is, however, ample free parking in the mall lots within easy walking distance of the Wynfrey.

The Wynfrey is currently accepting reservations for our reunion. Use group code 1BA62T.

You may make your reservation by calling 1-800-996-3739 or on line at www.Wynfrey.com. The internet site also has virtual tours of the Wynfrey.

Non-Selected Tours

In our initial announcement of possible tour destinations, we included Barber Motor Sports Park & Museum, Civil Rights Institute, Paul 'Bear' Bryant Museum, Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, and Tannehill Iron Works. The preferences listed by those who responded did not show sufficient interest in those four tour destinations to justify their inclusion in the scheduled tours. Your reunion check-in packet will include instructions on how to visit those sites on your own.
