As you know, in mid-November, I advised the class of 1955, that it would be appropriate for our classmate, Oscar Raynal, to attend our 60th Class Reunion and in conjunction with that notice, I asked for funds. Most of you are aware that Oscar has been a Jesuit Priest for over half a century and took an Oath of Poverty many decades ago. Oscar now serves on Maria Madre Island, a prison island for the Mexican government, about 40 miles off the west coast of Mexico.
I am happy to report to you that 41 of our classmates and one widow responded with a total of $5480. In addition, a classmate who wishes to remain anonymous is providing additional funds for Oscar's trip. These contributions assure that Oscar will be able to complete the round trip from his home parish to attend the 60 Reunion, and will have all his expenses paid as a result of the Class of 1955's generosity. I look forward to seeing you this month at the 60th.
