This is a "heads up" on the golf options for the San
Fran mini. Details will be included, as well, in the registration package
that you will be receiving from our San Francisco Mini Hosts. It
would be helpful to me if you could give me a preliminary indication of
your desire to play, either one or both days. For contracting purposes, I
need to provide each course with a "reasonable" estimate of golfers
expected within the next 30-45 days. The courses would expect a firm
number by
mid-September. An advance number will also be helpful for transportation
planning purposes. A canvass of our "Class Golf Registry" will give me a
good start. options are:
Monday, October 17 - A "shotgun" start
is planned at 0830 at the Crystal Springs Golf Club in Burlingame,
approximately 30 minutes from our hotel(s). Bus transportation will be provided with payment expected
at registration. Golf fees will be $60. This covers green fees, cart,
range balls and a $5 credit that may be used either in the pro shop or
restaurant. With an 0830 start we should complete play around 1300. This will allow time for everyone to "grab" a sandwich, which could be preordered before play. Rental clubs are available for a fee of $30.
Please advise if you are interested in a rental set. I need to give them a minimum of 7 days notice (14 would be better for me). Rental clubs
would be placed on your card and ready when you arrive. You can view the
course at www.playcrystalsprings.com
Tuesday, October 18 - Tee times will
be arranged at the Presidio beginning at 1000 (Class meeting scheduled to end at 0900). Travel time is only 10 minutes and will be arranged to accommodate each foursome or groups thereof. Details on travel options will be provided later. Golf fees will be $85, includes green fees, cart and range balls. Rental clubs are available for $40. Advance notice required. The course can be viewed at www.presidiogolf.com
I hope all attending the mini will play both days. The weather should be great. For those who may not want to "drag" their clubs to San Fran, please consider the rental option. Never miss an opportunity to play golf.
Thanks,
Tom Sands
