August 18, 2003:Dan,

It's great to hear from you. Army life is going well. I'm down at Fort Polk (JRTC) at least for the near term though I hope to PCS before the end of the calendar year. I've been down here for 2 years and it's safe to say that I'm ready to leave here. Am trying to get to Campbell and the 101st in time to get over to Iraq for a couple of months. I was overseas in early April conducting urban training for the 4th ID as they were staging for their deployment areas. For the last year, I was the senior urban operations O/C here so I got to run a lot of cool stuff, get a chance to go places, etc.

Got married in December 2002 to my wife Steffanie, who is an attorney who lives in Jackson, MS. She still works there until I will PCS (which I thought at the time would have occurred by now). Anyway, we see each other about 3 weekends a month or so and over leave periods. We honeymooned in Tahiti, and went to Australia last month.

How are other fellow Bulldogs doing these days? Look forward to hearing any info you have. Take care.

Perry
