FD8 Program

1. Description.

The program concept is simple: the FD8 Committee will send information,
appeals for donations, and frequent reminders to WP-ORG's constituencies to
get them to promptly translate their goodwill into the *act* of making a
donation.

Members of the committee will send their information/appeals/reminders
according to a schedule to which we all agree. The schedule outline is
below in table form. We'll need to agree who will send which message and
when.

Once we do this, much of the planning for FD8 is done and we can get on to
discussing a general outline for the content of these messages, begin writing.

Messages should be brief and to the point. ~150-200 words each should get
the job done. But, of course, that will be a matter of individual taste or
style. If you want to write more in a particular message, fine. Also, if we
need to say more on a subject we can put it at the public website.

We'll discuss outline and content of messages separately on "fd8."

For the purpose of targeting appeals for donations, we'll divide the
several WP-ORG constituencies into two broad categories: individual members
(our 19,300 subscribers); and organizations associated with WP-ORG (WPS's,
WPPC's, etc.)

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS

- For duration of drive, two solicitations/reminders per week to all
subscribers

+ Monday morning, to "corps" (= all 19,300+) subscribers: Information
about what WP-ORG is, why funds are needed, review of all services. These
will be written by Officers and Advisors.

+ Thursday morning, to graduates and parents via respective nets:
appeals/reminders tailored to specif group. These will be written by
members of the FD8 Committee.

- For duration of drive, use of posting headers and footers in coordinated
manner for reminders and progress updates. MacLean will make suggestions;
Committee will advise/help with this.

- "FD8 Public Information Website" to be referenced as needed by
prospective donors for more information about services, budgets, expenses,
etc. Posted appeals will point to this website. [TBA] will do this.

ORGANIZATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH WP-ORG

- WPPC's: Welle/MacLean will draft appeals; Welle/MacLean will send via
PRES-NET; will devise followups.

- WPS's: Magruder and Price will devise or delegate.

- Commercial affiliates: Magruder and Price will devise or delegate.

- Organizations tapping Job Bank: Magruder and Price will devise or delegate.

- "Big Donors": Magruder and Price will devise or delegate.

- Same "FD8 Public Information Website" will be referenced as needed.

2. Table of Postings to WP-ORG members and WPPC's

Following table enumerates schedule of postings for FD8 Program, via WP-ORG
forums.

Changes to headers/footers on all traffic not shown; we'll change them as
needed.

Wp-forum not shown; will have to ask Darrow.

How postings will be composed/distributed to class forums is TBD.

"( ? )" indicates we need committee member or Advisor to volunteer to
write that posting. Feel free to volunteer. To sign up, send a message to
"fd8" and name your posting(s).

There are 27 slots in table remaining to be filled, over nine weeks.
Initially, let's just sign up for the 17 openings in the first five weeks
of FD8.
