It is with greatest sorrow that ww announce the passing of 1LT Michael Thomas Ziegler on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. Beloved son of Barbara and Mark Ziegler, and brother to Mark, Lauren, Ashley, Matthew, Missy, Gregory, and Carolyn. Michael passed away in the loving arms of his family after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer.

We grieve greatly for Michael and we are truly heartbroken after so many prayers and thoughts for Michael’s recovery but it was not meant to be. Thankfully, Michael is no longer suffering but in the hands of God.

The family will receive visitors at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, at 9900 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA on Saturday, January 9th, 2016 from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M., with prayers to follow.

A Celebration of Life for Michael will be held on Sunday, January 10th, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Virginia Run Community Center, at 15355 Wetherburn Court, Centreville, VA. Chapel service and interment with full military honors will be held at West Point, NY on Tuesday, January 12th, 2016 at 1:30 P.M.
