Charles Butler Baldinger, beloved husband, son, grandson, brother and friend, passed away peacefully at age 29 on January 6 from brain cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Allyson and unborn son, Connor Michael; parents, Paul and Kimber Baldinger; siblings, Jim Baldinger, Robert Baldinger, Ellen Baldinger Gerringer and Joseph T. Baldinger; grandfather, Robert Butler, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents James and Edith Baldinger and Dixie Lee F. Butler.

He was a graduate of St. Henry School, Father Ryan High School and the USMA at West Point. After being diagnosed and treated for cancer in 2010, he returned to West Point to graduate. He subsequently achieved a master’s degree in both Nutrition and Exercise Science from Lipscomb University. For the past 1 ½ years, Charlie conducted neuroscience research with Blythe Corbett, PH.D. in the SENSE Lab at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and recently co-authored a paper on children with autism spectrum disorder. His life was an inspiration to his family and his peers.

To honor and celebrate Charlie’s life, there will be a time of visitation on Wednesday, January 9 at Saint Matthew Catholic Church from 4:00 – 6:00 pm followed by a vigil at 6:00 pm. On Thursday there will be a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 am. Charlie will be buried at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors on Monday, January 14 at 10:00 am.
