The body of a Fort Carson Soldier, 2nd Lt. Andrew Caldwell, 23, of Hampden, Maine, was recovered by El Paso County Search and Rescue. He slipped and fell while climbing on Pikes Peak near the bottomless pit. He was a member of 3rd Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.
He is survived by his parents.
