1LT Cerrone of Clarksville, Tenn.
died on Nov. 12 in Samarra, Iraq, of injuries suffered when an
improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during
combat operations. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 505th
Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne
Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.
He is the son of Brig. Gen. James
Cerrone, special assistant to the commanding general of the 18th
Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg.
His awards and decorations include
the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Army
Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign
Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon,
Combat Infantry Badge and the Parachutist's Badge.
He is survived by his parents and
brother.
