The class was well represented at the ceremony,
and the dinner yesterday evening at the new home
the family has built on the banks of the Little Tennessee River.
This river is the southern boundary
of the Great Smoky massif, and in the heartland of the Cherokee
Nation's ancestral homeland. The
area is indescribably beautiful this time of the year.

David's parents, Gail and Rich, and David's
sister Michelle, are here with CPTJohn McDougal '00'
presently Rear Detachment CO for the 173rd, representing the
Brigade. The Silver Star was
presented by LTC Harry Tunnell '84, David's battalion CO at the
time, who spoke to an overflow
crowd at the local country club.
