Introduction

-- Ladies and gentlemen, introducing the newest member of a long and prestigious line of columnists - me. I figured it was about time a young twentysomething took the stage. Don't get me wrong, I like the old guys as much as the next guy, but it's time for a change.

Alright, I'll confess; the real reason I'm a columnist as opposed to having a real job is the rewards. Let me be a little clearer; I'm not talking about the monetary rewards. I could be making much more money if I studied law or medicine or became a movie star. Maybe I could join what seems to be the fastest growing business sector in America and have my own talk show. The thing is, I'm not in this for the money, I'm in it for the free time.

Being a syndicated columnist doesn't pay well, but I only "work" two days a week, which is especially nice if you live on the coast in southern Florida like I plan to. Plus I get the satisfaction of knowing I'm making a difference in the lives of others. I get the joy of realizing I brighten your day. You, the reader, get to benefit from my witty and charming observations about everyday life.

But wait-wouldn't I serve humanity better if I did something useful? Probably, but the hours are not as nice. Speaking of which, I have to close now if I want a good spot on the beach.
